That THB 250,000 doesn’t buy a longer visa term — it takes you from Bronze’s “basic long stay + core member services” up into Gold’s layer of Points plus additional lifestyle benefits.
If your main need is long-term stay in Thailand, frequent travel, and airport services, Bronze already covers the core functions. If you’ll actually use member services like hotels, health, travel, and dining, Gold’s difference becomes meaningful.

Bronze is a limited-time plan; the currently announced deadline is September 30, 2026. Since it has been extended before, you should still confirm its open status on the day you submit your formal application.
The Two Tiers Are Actually Alike in Many Ways
1. Both Are 5-Year Memberships
Bronze’s and Gold’s membership terms are both 5 years.
So paying the extra THB 250,000 doesn’t turn 5 years into 10. If you want a longer membership term, you need to compare upward to Platinum’s 10 years, Diamond’s 15 years, and Reserve’s 20 years.
2. The PE Visa Structure Is the Same
Both tiers come with the Privilege Entry Visa (PE Visa):
5-year multiple entry, with each entry permitting a stay of up to 1 year, extendable as provided by regulation.
So looking purely at “can I stay in Thailand long-term,” the core visa structure is essentially the same for both tiers.
3. Core Member Services Are Included in Both
Both Bronze and Gold include EPA personal assistance, fast-track at designated international airports, and member customer service plus related visa support.
So if your main needs are just:
5-year long stay + multiple entries + airport fast-track + member assistance,
Bronze already covers most of the core functions.
4. No Difference in Family or Work Rights Either
Neither tier has the Next Member family add-on membership; that mechanism is currently available only on Platinum, Diamond, and Reserve.
It’s the same on work: Thailand Privilege membership itself does not come with a Thai work permit. If you need to be employed in Thailand or engage in an activity regulated by work-permit requirements, this must be arranged separately under Thai labor law.
What Does Gold’s Extra THB 250,000 Mainly Buy?
1. 20 Points a Year
This is the most direct dividing line between Bronze and Gold.
Bronze has no member points; Gold gets 20 Points a year, and this is where you start to enter the E-Privilege redemption system.
Under the current benefits structure, Points can be used for hotel stays, airport transfers, airport lounges, health services, golf, spa, dining, travel, entertainment, and certain banking, driver’s license, government-affairs, and 90-day reporting services.
But note:
20 Points does not mean all these services are free.
Different services carry different point-redemption requirements, and providers and redemption rules can be updated, so the real value of Points depends on whether you’ll actually use them.
2. A Set of Direct Benefits Bronze Doesn’t Have
Gold isn’t just “20 more points.”
Per the current benefits table, Gold also adds benefits such as wealth advisory, one health check-up during the membership period, discounts at designated hotels and lifestyle offers, buy-one-get-one movie tickets, and personal accident coverage for the first 180 days.
In other words, Gold starts to move from a plain long-stay membership toward a more complete Lifestyle Membership.
3. But Gold Still Isn’t a High-Tier Plan
Some benefits shouldn’t be mistakenly assumed to be included just because Gold has Points.
For example, Next Member, certain hotel and fitness benefits, co-working space, and Reserve’s premium lifestyle services all belong to higher tiers.
Co-working in particular is not a directly included benefit of Gold under the current benefits table, so it shouldn’t be generalized as “included from Gold upward.”
Is It Worth Buying Bronze First, Then Upgrading to Gold?
Bronze’s current agreement has an upgrade mechanism.
Per the current fee schedule:

The difference is THB 150,000.
In other words, if you’re already fairly sure you’ll need Gold eventually, applying directly for Gold is cheaper than buying Bronze first and upgrading later, based on the current fee schedule.
Upgrading from Bronze also isn’t as simple as paying the difference at any time. Under the current agreement, you need to submit the upgrade notice at least 6 months before the membership expires, and it’s subject to Thailand Privilege’s approval and receipt of the relevant fees.

Bronze or Gold? Four Questions to Decide
1. Are You Mainly Buying Long-Stay Status, or Member Lifestyle Services?
If your main need is the 5-year PE Visa, airport fast-track, and member support, Bronze is already fairly complete.
2. Will You Actually Use the 20 Points a Year?
People who frequently stay in hotels or use transfers, health check-ups, golf, spa, travel, or dining services will get more value out of Gold than someone who just wants to settle quietly in Thailand.
3. Is Your Real Need Actually a Family Plan?
If a spouse, children, or parents also need to apply, neither Bronze nor Gold has Next Member — in that case, you should compare Platinum and above directly.
4. Are You Likely to Upgrade Later?
If the answer is “yes,” don’t just look at Bronze’s low entry price. Per the current fee schedule, the total cost of upgrading to Gold later is actually THB 150,000 higher than applying for Gold directly.

Not true. Bronze and Gold are both 5-year memberships, with the same core PE Visa structure.

Not only that. Besides 20 Points a year, Gold also adds wealth advisory, a health check-up, designated hotel and lifestyle benefits, movie tickets, and first-year accident coverage.
Misunderstanding 3: “Buying Bronze First and Upgrading to Gold Later Saves Money.”
Not under the current fee schedule. The illustrative total cost of Bronze followed by an upgrade to Gold is THB 1,050,000, higher than THB 900,000 for Gold directly.
Misunderstanding 4: “Gold Lets You Bring Family.”
Next Member isn’t available on Gold. The family add-on membership is currently only available on Platinum, Diamond, and Reserve.
Misunderstanding 5: “Gold Includes Co-Working.”
This can’t be generalized that way. The current benefits table does not list co-working space as a direct benefit included with Gold.
