01 · ABOUT THE SRRV

What is the Philippines SRRV?

The SRRV (Special Resident Retiree’s Visa) is a special non-immigrant visa under the Philippines’ retirement program. The Philippine Retirement Authority (PRA) handles the program application, and the Bureau of Immigration issues the visa.

It suits foreign nationals and former Filipino citizens who want to live in the Philippines long term. Holders can enter and leave multiple times and stay indefinitely, as long as they keep meeting the deposit, annual fee and other requirements of their chosen option.

Long-term stay

Live in the Philippines long term while you meet the program conditions, without repeated short tourist-visa extensions.

Multiple entry

Travel in and out of the Philippines on a valid SRRV without a separate Bureau of Immigration re-entry permit.

Family can join

Your legal spouse and unmarried children under 21 at the time of application may be assessed with you.

Pension tax exemption

PRA lists an exemption from tax on pensions and annuities for SRRV holders.

Simpler status admin

No Bureau of Immigration annual report and no ACR I-Card requirement.

Deposit with permitted uses

The Classic deposit may be converted into a permitted investment, such as a condominium or long-term lease, subject to PRA rules.

02 · REQUIREMENTS

Which SRRV Classic option fits your age and pension?

These are the Classic deposit options most foreign applicants use. The visa deposit is separate from government fees and service fees.

01 · AGE 50 OR ABOVE

With a lifetime pension

Suits: people who can show qualifying pension proof and want to plan a long stay with a lower deposit.

Visa deposit: US$15,000.

Pension of at least US$800 a month for a single applicant, or US$1,000 a month when applying with dependents.

02 · AGE 50 OR ABOVE

Without a qualifying pension

Suits: people planning retirement on savings or other assets who cannot provide the required pension proof.

Visa deposit: US$30,000.

03 · AGE 40 TO 49

With a lifetime pension

Suits: people starting a long stay earlier who can provide qualifying pension proof.

Visa deposit: US$25,000.

Pension of at least US$800 a month for a single applicant, or US$1,000 a month when applying with dependents.

04 · AGE 40 TO 49

Without a qualifying pension

Suits: people not yet receiving a qualifying pension who want to qualify through the deposit route.

Visa deposit: US$50,000.

These deposits cover the principal applicant and up to two eligible dependents; each additional Classic dependent adds US$15,000. Former Filipino citizens and certain other applicants may be assessed for the Courtesy option, which does not use the Classic thresholds.

The visa deposit, government fees and the application support fee are counted separately.

Depends on your age, pension and number of dependents. It goes to a PRA-accredited bank and is not a fee paid to ZDelp.

PRA processing fee

US$1,500 per principalUS$300 per dependent

Paid under PRA’s application procedure. It does not include the deposit, annual fee or document costs.

Classic annual fee

US$360 a yearCovers the principal and two dependents

Each dependent beyond two adds US$100 a year.

Application support fee

Quoted by scope

Before work begins, your consultant sets out the support fee, translation and authentication costs, other third-party fees and the payment schedule. Fees vary with your documents and family size and are subject to a written quote.

How long does the SRRV take?

PRA lists a processing time of 30–45 working days once your documents are complete. Time for preparing and authenticating documents, funding the deposit and any follow-up requests comes on top of that.

You need to be in the Philippines for the whole SRRV application, on a valid tourist visa that can be converted. Check your documents and time in the Philippines with a consultant before you book travel.

06 · FAQ

SRRV application FAQ

Can I apply if I haven’t retired or don’t have a pension?

Applicants aged 40 or over may be assessed under the Classic non-pensioner route: a US$50,000 deposit at 40 to 49, or US$30,000 at 50 or above. Document, background and entry-status requirements still apply.

Is the visa deposit the same as the application fee?

No. The deposit must be kept in an accredited bank under SRRV rules, or converted into a permitted investment with approval. Government processing fees, annual fees, service fees and document costs are separate.

Can my spouse and children apply with me?

Your legal spouse and unmarried children under 21 at the time of application may qualify as dependents. You will need proof of relationship, and each dependent pays an application fee. Beyond two dependents, the Classic deposit and annual fee increase.

Do I need to be in the Philippines to apply?

Yes. You need to be in the Philippines during the SRRV application, on a valid tourist visa that can be converted. Your documents, authentication and travel plans can be checked before you leave.

Do my overseas documents need translation and authentication?

Documents not in English must be translated into English, and documents issued abroad need an apostille or authentication by a Philippine embassy or consulate, as PRA requires. Your consultant explains how to prepare each document based on where it was issued and what it is for.

Can I use the deposit to buy property?

Not freely. Under the Classic option you may apply to convert the deposit into a permitted investment, but this depends on PRA approval and its rules on investment type and amount. The deposit cannot simply be withdrawn once it is in the bank.

Once I have the SRRV, is there anything left to manage?

Yes. You need to keep your program eligibility and your deposit or approved investment, pay the annual fee and renew your ID card as required. Your consultant explains the main upkeep items after approval.

What do I need for the first assessment?

Your age, nationality, pension source and amount, the deposit you can arrange, how many people will apply, and how long you plan to be in the Philippines. That is enough to start confirming your route.

Confirm your eligibility and time in the Philippines first, then start your application.
