MBSB Bank has expanded GET, its Wise-powered international transfer service, from 12 to 20 supported currencies, adding the Vietnamese dong, Canadian dollar and UAE dirham among others. Existing customers can access the service through MBSB’s MJourney app and web platform, with a daily transfer limit of RM150,000, upfront display of exchange rates and fees, and real-time transfer tracking.
The bank said GET’s transaction volume grew 250% in 2026 compared with 2025, with the number of unique users more than doubling on an average-daily-activity basis, and a repeat-transaction rate above 90% over the past year. Family support and living-expense payments account for the largest share of transfers, followed by payments for goods, salary remittances and personal savings.
MBSB Berhad Group CEO Rafe Haneef said customer expectations around “speed, visibility and transparency” have evolved as digital finance becomes routine, and that GET’s growth reflects a push to make international transfers “simpler, clearer and more convenient.” Wise Platform’s APAC General Manager, Samarth Bansal, said the expansion gives Malaysian customers “more routes to send money internationally through the bank they know and trust.”
For Malaysia-based movers and expats sending money home or receiving funds from abroad, the currency expansion and upfront fee disclosure narrow the gap between a bank transfer and a standalone remittance app — without requiring a separate account.
