The Isle of Man Immigration Service has announced a new Global Business Mobility (GBM) route that takes effect on 2 November 2026, opening five distinct temporary-worker visa categories for foreign professionals and corporate transferees, according to an official government notice. The Isle of Man is a self-governing British Crown dependency that sets its own immigration rules separately from the UK, so the change applies only to people moving to or working on the island, not to the rest of the UK.
The five categories under the new GBM route are: the Senior or Specialist Worker visa, for senior managers or specialists transferred to an employer’s existing Isle of Man branch; the Expansion Worker route, for staff sent to help an overseas company establish a new business presence on the island; the Graduate Trainee visa, for workers on structured graduate training programmes within a company; the Secondment Worker category, for individuals placed on secondment under high-value contracts; and the Service Supplier visa, for contractors delivering services under international trade agreements.
The existing Intra-Company Transfer (ICT) visa closes to new applicants on the same date the GBM route launches. Workers who already hold an ICT visa are not affected: under paragraph 3.4 of Appendix W of the government notice, current ICT holders retain their existing leave and settlement rights through the transition.
The move brings the Isle of Man’s corporate-mobility framework closer in line with international standards for short-term secondments, graduate placements and business-expansion deployments, replacing a single transfer category with five more clearly defined routes tailored to different types of overseas business arrangements.
